These are my final images for my weird and wonderful project:
I chose these photos because I felt that they were my best work and also followed my statement of intent, to use landscape photography to show the beauty of Gods creation, but also show within the same image that humans are destroying the earth, and we should start to be the 'stewards of the earth' that God has called us to be.
At first, when designing how to present my work, I wanted to use 11 photos, but I then felt, after designing it, that it would be too many and would take away the focus of the message I wanted to give.
I feel that the message should be portrayed simply, to engage the viewer more and to challenge them more on this concept.
I used the photographers Charles Cramer and Adam Burton to influence this work; as well as artists from Tumblr to influence how I used text in this project.
-I wanted to use Adam Burtons photography as inspiration for my 'weird and wonderful' work, because I believe he really captures the details in the beauty of Gods creation. He captures the wonderful colours and interesting things of Gods design, whilst also making them look more mysterious, and makes you ask questions about the image, as he incorporates some man made items, such as the fence.
-I want to take photos of water in my photography work, as I believe it reflects the peace of God.
Charles Cramers uses photoshop to bring out the colours and reflections in the sea. He makes it look very soothing, which effects the viewer, as it also makes them feel this.
In my photography I want people to be challenged by what they see and get a message from my images that we need to look after Gods Earth. I believe that Charles does this well in his images through photoshop, as it helps portray more emotions as it exaggerates specific things in his work which convey different thoughts to people.
I used photoshop on the top image to exaggerate the fact that the world is getting a messy place, as we are destroying it. It is a very abstract image, which I feel ensures this point gets across.
-I want to give off a message through my work, and I thought as well as doing this via the photograph itself, I could also put text on an image to emphasize the message. I wanted it to be simple yet effective, and get the point across clearly, like the selection of Tumblr photos.
